A structured programme that transforms beginners into confident performers. Not just lessons β a complete system with a guaranteed outcome.
Learning an instrument plays a powerful role in a child's development, and my teaching aims to inspire a lasting passion for music through creativity, performance, and strong musicianship.
My own musical journey began in Portugal at the ConservatΓ³rio de MΓΊsica Calouste Gulbenkian and continued in London at City University, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Music. Along the way, I've performed with bands at well-known venues including the Green Note, The Waiting Room, The Old Blue Last, and Clissold House.
Through my KodΓ‘ly training, I take a well-rounded approach to teaching, with pitch, rhythm, and pulse as the core pillars of music-making, and a focus on singing as the first step towards understanding music. I encourage my students to explore a wide range of styles and to grow in confidence by performing from an early stage.

Real stories from families who've experienced the transformation
"Ana is superb. Both of my kids have learned piano with her and to see their development over the years has been astonishing. And they still love playing!"
"Since Ana started teaching Sid about 2 years ago we have seen a dramatic improvement in his playing. He has really enjoyed the lessons and Ana has also managed to inspire him to practice properly between lessons. Having been close to giving up, Sid has now performed twice in front of an audience β once with a band and once solo. We would wholeheartedly recommend Ana."
Everything you need to know before getting started
Children can begin learning piano and violin from age 5. The best age depends on your child's individual readiness and interest. I offer a free discovery call where we can discuss whether your child is ready to begin their musical journey.
With the Stage Ready Sprint programme, your child will perform a complete piece at a recital within 10 weeks. This is guaranteed β if they attend every lesson and follow the practice plan, they will be ready to perform.
I focus on outcomes, not just lessons. Every student works towards performing at a recital β a real, tangible goal that builds confidence. I provide weekly progress updates, a structured practice system, and a performance guarantee.
Yes, I prepare students for ABRSM and Rockschool graded examinations. Grade preparation is built into my ongoing Mastery Path programmes, with most students taking their first assessment within 12-18 months of consistent lessons.
The Stage Ready Sprint is designed to build genuine engagement. By working towards a real performance goal with visible weekly progress, children develop intrinsic motivation. The sprint structure also means there's a natural endpoint β no long-term commitment required to see results.
I teach from various locations suitable for music instruction in Bath. The address is provided once you book your discovery call.
For the Sprint programme, I recommend 15-20 minutes of focused practice, 5 days per week. I provide a structured practice plan each week so both you and your child know exactly what to work on. Quality matters more than quantity.
After the Sprint, students can continue with the Mastery Path β my ongoing monthly programme that builds towards graded exams and continued performance opportunities. There's no obligation to continue, but most families choose to because of the progress they've seen.
